Vocal singing and piano playing master class, 7-8 July

A VOCAL singing and piano playing master class will be held in conjunction with the Unity In Love Opera Singing and Piano Concert from 7.30pm on July 7 and 8.

The concert, which will be held at the Sabah Theological Seminary Auditorium, would feature international opera singers and pianists from Korea.

The master class for vocal singing and piano is however scheduled to start at 10am and end at 1pm the same place on July 9.

Tickets need to be purchased for both the concert and lessons.

Partnership between Sabah and Korea in the field of music started in 2009 when Pastors Fellowship of Kota Kinabalu and Sabah Council of Churches through its church contact, invited a group of opera singers (soprano, tenor, baritone) from Korea to come and perform two nights of opera singing.

It was done with the aim of exposing Sabah music enthusiasts to quality opera singing. Songs presented were a repertoire of classical and modern opera songs.

In 2010, the same group of singers came back to Sabah, this time not only to sing but also to conduct master class in opera singing, with the aim of alleviating the standard of opera singing among talented singers at the local scene.

This year’s opera singing and piano concerts and master class is organised by the Pastors’ Fellowship of Kota Kinabalu in partnership with Sabah Theological Seminary, Kota Kinabalu.
