Battle 21 is back !!!!

YOUNG street dance competitors Statewide will converge here on Sept 1 for the second annual breakdancing competition ‘Battle 21: Borneo Search’.

It is jointly organised by M.E. Malaysia and Street Nation Production with support by Dana Belia 1 Malaysia, Kompleks Karamunsing, Fanta, Acer and Borneo Bboys Foundation.

The competition is opened for youth below 21 started with the aim of using urban movement and dance as a way to unlock youth’s potential and to pave the way for the new generation of dancers.

The event will be held on Sept 1 in Karamunsing complex from 1pm to 6pm, and admission is free to public.

Young Bboys, Bgirls, Poppers, and Street Dancers will battle it out to win the competitive dance-offs for the opportunity to represent Borneo for ‘Battle 21 International’ against other international participants due to be held in Kuala Lumpur on Sept 16.

Amongst the categories contested are: 2 on 2 Bboy/Bgirl Crew Battle, 1 on 1 All Style and 1 on 1 Popping.

"Battle 21 is an effort to encourage the local talents in Sabah and bring awareness of this form of dance to our society,” said its event Manager, Izzie Zainal.

“We hope that the public will come to support this event as it will open their eyes to the world of hip hop and accept it as a healthy activity for our younger generation,” he added.
