SHUTTERBUGS and nature lovers take note!

In conjunction with the "International Year of the Forest 2011" (IYF 2011), the Malaysian Timber Council (MTC) is calling out to photographers and photography enthusiasts to capture the lush beauty of the Malaysian forest in its natural splendour.
Echoing the IYF 2011 theme "Forest for the People", the MTC Photography Competition 2011 is divided into four categories for contestants to demonstrate their creativity - namely forest landscape, flora and fauna, and wood and its many uses.

There is also a special category on composition and forms, allowing contestants to showcase their talents in a more imaginative and artistic manner.

Open to Malaysian citizens and residents regardless of age or level of photography skill, the competition requires no entry fee and offers prizes worth a total of RM80, 000!

For each category, the 1st prize winner will be the proud owner of a brand new iPad 2 64GB camera.

The 2nd and 3rd prize winners will take home a Nikon DSLR camera and a Canon ultra compact digital camera respectively.

Cash prizes of RM5000, RM3000 and RM2000 respectively, will also be awarded to these winners.

Ten contestants will receive consolation prizes of MTC’s popular publication on timber applications, "Timeless Living" worth RM170 and RM300 cash prize.
